Hosting Plans Using SierraTech Domains

We currently offer 3 discount plans, tailored for the budget minded business.  These hosting plans are on the same servers discussed above, but without the InterNIC annual fees.  Your URL address is preceded by WWW.SIERRATECH.NET or WWW.SIERRA-TEK.COM, followed by your business name (e.g. http://www.sierra-tek.com/old-vienna ).   The three tiers are based upon web server demands needed to meet your required web presence.

• Basic Web Account
  This hosting service is good for the small business that wants to take advantage of the Internet's power of global presence, but does not want to deal with computers in general.   Restaurants make good use of this service to reach the tourist and local clients.   No e-mail or interactive components are available with this service, since its mission is to advertise in a big way, with minimum monthly cost.

• Bronze Interactive Web Account
  The Bronze Interactive Web Account does provide e-mail connectivity.   Business that fit into this category do use computers to surf the web and have e-mail capability.  The business owner may be using AOL as their Internet Provider, but desires a professional Internet Presence.  Most companies do not want visitors to see an AOL e-mail address, and we can assign a new address that forwards to your existing e-mail account (e.g. yourcompany@sierratech.net).  This plan facilitates Online Forms for your web site.  Online forms can be used to book reservations, or customer inquiry.  The form results are e-mailed to you automatically, and you simply respond by clicking reply in your existing e-mail client software.

• Silver Interactive Web Account
  The Silver Interactive Web Account is similar to the Bronze Interactive Web Account, with additional disk space on the server for more pages and graphics.   The Silver Interactive Account also provides a mailbox on our server (handy for when more than one person needs to access the business e-mail).  The mail remains on the server until deleted by you (or when the box fills up).  Your e-mail name is still assigned to the SierraTech computers, but provides a professional method to retrieve your mail by using a true SMTP (Simple Mail Transport Protocol) client (e.g. Outlook or Outlook Express).

Hosting Plans: Personal Domain Accounts

These plans are the "top of the line" hosting services.  They differ from previous accounts, in that the domain name (web address) is a name that is associated with your business or organization (e.g. www.mybusiness.com).   It is much easier for someone to find you on the Internet by using your company name or service provided.  Some example domains are below:

• www.winetours101.com (WINETOURS 101 - our customer)
• www.sony.com

Note the first domain isn't MEI, it's named after the products they manufacture.   Domain names are being taken daily, and if you have an idea for a name, you can use the tool below to see if it is available.

Having your own domain not only makes your business or organization easier to find, it provides for additional web presence feature unavailable in the previous accounts.   E-mail is based on your domain name, and your Internet Site can provide added features, such as Shopping Cart services for online selling.  We currently offer two plans for Personal Domain Accounts, depending on your Internet Web Site requirements.

• Gold Personal Domain Web Account
  The Gold Personal Domain Web Account is hosted on our NT servers.   This service meets 90% of our customers' requirements.  Using your domain name, we can set up e-mail forwarding accounts, which will take anyname@mybusiness.com and forward the mail to your current e-mail provider (e.g. forward to mail providers such as AOL, MindSpring, The Grid etc.).  When your domain is created (or transferred) you will receive an IP (Internet Protocol) address that is uniquely assigned tour domain name.  Your domain account is hosted on an NT server, and custom programs can be added to meet your Web Site's interactive needs.  For those customers looking to provide streaming audio or video technology to their visitors (music, speech etc.) Real Audio servers can be added (additional setup fee required).  Below is a list of features available in the Gold Personal Domain Web Account:

• Platinum Personal Domain Web Account
  The Platinum Personal Domain Web Account is hosted on our UNIX servers.   UNIX provides more flexibility for password protecting web pages.  UNIX servers are used for customers who require visitor registration, before providing complete access to their site.  Portions of your Web Site can easily be Password protected in the UNIX environment.  UNIX also provides many more server programs, available to facilitate various custom features.  Below is a list of features available in the Platinum Personal Domain Web Account:
